Wildlife Safaris
tswala.jpg Tswalu Kalahari Reserve is the largest privately-owned game reserve in South Africa. Nestling at the foot of the rugged Korannaberg, the exclusive Tswalu Motse lies on the edge of the desert wilderness known as the Kalahari. Solitude and space are the essence of Tswalu.

• From Cape Town and Johannesburg to Cape Town and Johannesburg
• Drive in: 3 days, 2 nights

Tswalu Private Desert Reserve, situated in the wilderness area on the edge of the Kalahari Desert, allows you to relax in the secluded luxury of your individual, air-conditioned lodge with its antique colonial furniture, tribal artefacts, telephone, fireplace, bathroom with inside and outside showers, and private sundeck with uninterrupted views across the spectacular Kalahari plains.

Mingle with friends in the main lounge and dining areas that give access to the veranda, a year-round heated swimming pool, and the boma, an exciting al fresco dining area where a log fire crackles beneath a billion stars. Explore Tswalu by open safari vehicle, horseback or foot. You are sharing the environment with springbok, buffalo, lion, kudu, bat-eared fox, hyena, mongoose, and aardwolf. Survey the wildebeest herds, view leopard, cheetah, and the majestic Roan and Sable antelopes. Witness the drama of a group of giraffe, or watch a family of nyala stroll down to the waterhole from your veranda.

Tswalu Private Desert Reserve is a member of the prestigious Relais & Chateaux group. A stay at a Relais & Chateaux Hotel or Restaurant guarantees an exceptional stay based on the philosophy of the Association, summed up by the 5' C's Courtesy, Charm, Character, Calm and Cuisine.

Susan, Wales.
I was going to email you anyway, to thank you for all your help and for booking such a wonderful trip for us. We were all really pleased with how it worked out. The travel went very smoothly and all 4 internal flights went well. Madikwe was wonderful and more than met our expectations! The ranger guide was highly informed and we saw more big animals that we had hoped for: each of us had named two that we REALLY wanted to see! All three of us had our wishes granted, including Niamh, who wanted to see 3 male cheetahs! We really enjoyed out trip. I have passed your details on to three other people already! All the best and [hopefully] until the next time.
