SINGITA PRIVATE GAME RESERVE – MPUMALANGA
sig.jpg The Sabi Sands gets its name the perennial Sand River that bisects the reserve and the fine, sandy substrate found throughout. Globally renowned for its diversity and concentration of big game, the Sabi Sands features broad, open savannah interspersed with acacia thornveld, rocky outcrops and riverine forest.
Herds of buffalo and elephant, large prides of lion, majestic leopard and antelope by the thousands make the 18 500 hectare Singita Private Game Reserve, at the heart of the Sabi Sands, one of the finest locations for viewing the Big 5 anywhere in the world.

Experience the ultimate year-round South African safari in an exclusive wildlife sanctuary beside the Kruger National Park. Singita, meaning "the Miracle" in the local Shangaan language - is exquisite luxury, rare solitude and perfect tranquility in a jewel-like setting where dedicated, professional staff seek to pamper and please you. World class comfort, style, food and rare vintage wines stroke the senses.

Exclusive accommodation is for the discerning traveller and our attention to detail is unsurpassed. Discover why the finest private game reserve in Africa has earned worldwide renown as the ultimate wildlife safari.

Singita offers wonderful opportunities for big five sightings. The reserve is on the migration routes of many prey species, and sightings of lion, leopard and even the elusive Cape Hunting dog are common. Time spent at Singita is time spent at the very heart of the African wilderness, in a place that grew out of the bushveld.

While we offer game drives and walks, and the finest big five game viewing in Southern Africa, Singita is distinguished by the wide range of activities our guests are free to enjoy at the lodges. Clay pigeon shooting is available on request, or guests may try some fly-fishing in the seasonal rivers. You may ask your ranger to requisition a private Land Rover, or you may choose to join one of the daily drives or group walks. Bush breakfasts and sunset cocktails may be arranged for you in some of the most scenic spots in the reserve, or you may dine on the privacy of your deck.

A guided visit to Justitia Village, just outside the boundary of the reserve, will provide you with fascinating insights into the life of the local Shangaan community. In the reserve, highly trained and experienced rangers and trackers will introduce you to an Africa few have been privileged to see, while the lodge staff, headed up by internationally trained management and a highly sought-after executive chef will ensure that your stay is not simply pleasant but truly memorable.

In Singita's African Trading Store, you will find abundant evidence of Africa's rich traditions of art and craftsmanship. Here the most comprehensive collection of original merchandise imaginable has been assembled: jewellery crafted by hand from Africa's precious metals and gems; sculpture for the discerning investor; elegant fashion inspired by the beauty of the bush and quality outdoor gear; African music; limited edition photographic prints; homewear. All of this you may take in, over a cappuccino, in a store with a view to the distant African horizon. Your time at Singita is your own.

Lynne, Australia
What a great holiday we had.  South Africa is a beautiful country.  We loved Cape Town.  All the tours were wonderful but I particularly enjoyed going to the top of Table Mountain, (the day was lovely and clear and the ocean was so calm), and going to Hermanus.  What a lovely town and the drive there was spectacular…  We had seafood and it was very, very good…. One thing I liked was that there was music everywhere with people singing or playing instruments in the street.  It was very nice. I bought a couple of CDs of African music home with me.  Anyway, thanks again for organising the tours for us.  We loved our stay in your country.
