KRUGER NATIONAL PARK- TINGA PRIVATE GAME LODGE
tinga.jpg Kruger National Park is seen as the top tourist attraction in South Africa. The park is 2 000 000 hectares (19 685 square Km) and forms part of the Kruger Trans-frontier Park, in conjunction with the Gonarezhou Park in Zimbabwe, and Coutada 16 in Mozambique. This makes it one of the largest parks in the world.
The park enjoys a sub-tropical climate, with annual rainfalls of 500 to 700 mm, falling between September and March. With the Kruger National Park being so vast it naturally has tremendous species diversity, such as: 114 Reptiles, 1980 Plants, 404 Trees and Shrubs, 224 types of Grass, 147 Mammals, 52 Fish, 517 Birds and 35 Amphibians. The density of permanent game is unrivalled, and provides visitors with unbelievable sights and sounds of the variety on view.

The Kruger National Park and its surrounding areas is a must see destination when visiting South Africa. Besides the large variety of permanent game in the park, it also boasts a great variety of other species such as plants, trees, shrubs, grasses, mammals, fish, reptiles, birds and amphibians

On route to Kruger (drive-in option), visitors get the opportunity to view some of the most beautiful and natural wonders of South Africa, such as the Blyde River Canyon (3rd largest in world), Bourke’s Luck Potholes, Gods Window and many more. The landscape and climate changes continuously from high lying open grasslands, to mountainous forests and low lying Bushveld area.
A variety of industrial and mining activities and agricultural activities can be seen along the route. Your accompanying tourist guide will keep you captivated with the interesting history and information of the areas being visited.

TINGA PRIVATE GAME LODGE

Location: Set within one of the private concession areas of the Kruger National Park.
Tinga nestles privately at the confluence of the Sabi and Sand Rivers.

Closest airport: Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport.
Travel time from airport to lodge in air conditioned vehicle: 2 hours.

Description of Lodge:
Nine air-conditioned suites, each with en-suite bathroom and a double shower, private lounge, heated plunge pool, individual satellite television, in room mini-bar and safe.
River deck overlooking the Sabi River, a wine cellar stocked with Premier African and international wines, a library, Boma, lounge and bar, swimming pool and elevated walkways.

Description of accommodation:
As above, with direct dial telephone, international adapters, hairdryers, tea and coffee making facilities. Positioned to ensure total privacy, whilst providing unspoilt game views from own private deck.

Drive-in option:

Day 1
Early morning (06h00) departure from Johannesburg towards the Kruger National Park via the very scenic Panorama route. Drive through the scenic farming and mountain areas before arriving at the escarpment. Visit the magnificent Blyde River Canyon and God's Window viewpoint.
Enjoy lunch in the town of Graskop, with all its interesting arts and craft galleries. Continue the scenic drive towards the Lowveld area and Kruger National Park. Check into the Tinga Private Game Lodge, where your hosts will start pampering you with first class service. Depart on the first game viewing experience on an open vehicle, followed by sundowners and a sumptuous dinner.

Day 2 and 3

The day’s activities include morning and evening game drives, with breakfast, lunch, teas and coffees, sundowners and dinner. Guest can also join one of the walking safaris with an experienced game tracker, or relax and enjoy nature at its best, or utilise the other facilities of the lodge.

Day 4

After the last morning’s game drive, enjoy a hearty breakfast before departing on another scenic drive back towards Johannesburg. A different route will be followed, with different views and places of interest along the route. Arrival in Johannesburg in the late afternoon.

Fly-in option:

Day 1

Transfer from Johannesburg hotel to Johannesburg International Airport. Join the Federal Air Charter to Kruger National Park. Your host will meet you at the airstrip and transfer you to the Lodge. Check in, relax and depart on your first game veiwing experience on an open vehicle, followed by sundowners and a sumptuous dinner.


Day 2

The day’s activities include morning and evening game drives, with breakfast, lunch, teas and coffees, sundowners and dinner. Guest can also join one of the walking safaris with an experienced game tracker, or relax and enjoy nature at its best, or utilise the other facilities of the lodge.

Day 3

After the last morning’s game drive, enjoy a hearty breakfast before being transferred back to Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport, for the midday domestic flight to Johannesburg Airport.
