KRUGER NATIONAL PARK SAFARI (PROTEA HOTEL) – MPUMALANGA
protea2.jpg Kruger National Park is seen as the top tourist attraction in South Africa. The park is 2 000 000 hectares (19 685 square Km) and forms part of the Kruger Trans-frontier Park, in conjunction with the Gonarezhou Park in Zimbabwe, and Coutada 16 in Mozambique. This makes it one of the largest parks in the world.
The park enjoys a sub-tropical climate, with annual rainfalls of 500 to 700 mm, falling between September and March. With the Kruger National Park being so vast it naturally has tremendous species diversity, such as: 114 Reptiles, 1980 Plants, 404 Trees and Shrubs, 224 types of Grass, 147 Mammals, 52 Fish, 517 Birds and 35 Amphibians. The density of permanent game is unrivalled, and provides visitors with unbelievable sights and sounds of the variety on view.
